I came to the birth world through many years of teaching yoga and working with pregnant women and new moms in my yoga classes. In 2018, I completed my birth and postpartum doula training with Doula Trainings International and have happily been involved the birth world ever since.
My interest in becoming a doula started with an interest in reproductive justice and in the desire to help people feel empowered in their decision making when it comes to their bodies. Likewise, my goal as a doula is to create a safe, supportive and informed environment for people during birth and in the postpartum time as well. I am happy to support all birthing people in a variety of settings from hospital, to birth center, to home. I also enjoy my work as a postpartum night doula!
Past clients have told me that my presence at their birth or in their home allowed them to feel safe, calm and grounded.
In the beginning of 2019, I started courses to become a midwife and look forward to bringing this knowledge and experience to my work as a doula.
