The BirthWays class space is available to rent.

This space is perfect for:                                      

- practitioners seeing clients,
- holding meetings,
- group sessions, or
- workshops and classes.

We are conveniently located in the gourmet ghetto in Berkeley near many food options and the thriving North Shattuck shopping district. We are located on an AC transit line and are a 10-15 minute walk from BART. Our building is occupied by a mixture of offices and retail space and we are located off of a courtyard with a fountain. Our space is wheelchair and stroller friendly and is on the ground floor.

The space is 696 sq. ft. and includes a kitchenette with a microwave, hot water dispenser, sink and basic supplies. It is set up with couches, armchairs and gliders and comfortably seats 16 people, but can accommodate more with the backjacks that are provided. Three windows provide ample ambient light, but also have blinds that can be closed for privacy. We provide a TV and DVD/VCR and a radio along with teaching supplies for childbirth classes.

You will be given access to the key and will be required to clean the space before leaving, returning it to its original state.  You must then lock up and return the key upon leaving.

Availability: You can rent the space on an ongoing basis or for a one-time occasion. Currently we have a fair amount of availability during the weekdays and limited availability on weeknights and on the weekends. To check availability, go to the calendar (can this be a link to the calendar on the providers side) and see when the space is being used.  During weekdays (9 am to 5 pm), there is no minimum number of hours you are required to rent. On weekends there is a 4 hour minimum, but reservations will not be confirmed until the BirthWays schedule is finalized, typically at least 4 months prior to the date. On weeknights the minimum is a 2 hour slot for 4 weeks (once a week). If space is available with less than one month’s notice, we may make exceptions to this policy.

Rate: The space costs $20/hour to rent. If you would like to be listed with a weblink on the BirthWays website calendar used by new and expecting families, the hourly rental + calendar listing fee is $35 or a monthly rate of $150 for the calendar listing + the $20/ hourly rental fee.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made 30 days prior to your event will be refunded at 75% of the rental fee or 85% credit toward a future rental. Cancellations that occur between 10 and 30 days prior to your event will be refunded at 65% of the rental fee or a credit of 75% towards a future rental. Cancellations with less then 10 days notice will not be refunded but a 50% credit toward a future rental will be offered.
